The last few days have been so rewarding. Fleur has accepted having a halter put on. I started off by just putting it over her nose, taking it off, giving her a treat and walking away. Slowly over a period of days, I put it on, rewarded her and took it off again after increased periods of time. She actually seems quite relaxed with the whole process. I have put her halter on in different locations within her paddock and asked other people if they could try and so far so good! The trick is still getting those two eyes on you as you approach, if you don’t wait for them she moves off and putting a halter on is nothing but a dream. Today Fleur was introduced to a very soft brush. She is very unsure and starts to dance around at the feel of it, it is quite hard keeping contact with her through the brush but as soon as she stops in for a microsecond I take the brush away. I have also been spending a fair bit of time running my hands up and down her front legs. Again when I started doing this she would move off but is getting a lot more tolerant and relaxed and is keeping still for longer periods of time.
