Over the last week things with Fleur have moved on really well. She is standing nice and quietly for her brush, I try and keep the routine the same so as not to add any surprises in to the mix which is important for a nervous horse like Fleur. She is happy to be brushed all over including up and down her back legs. I have given her tail a good brush and trimmed off all the tatty ends, she has a beautiful thick tail! We have done lots more rasping of her front feet and have been working on picking up her back feet but not with much success. I can’t really work out the issue; she may have been hobbled too tight because as soon as I add pressure all the way around her leg she kicks out. It’s only a half-hearted kick but still one I rather she didn’t do! Maybe she has just never been taught to pick up her back feet up. Who knows but we will keep persevering.
